The beautiful tears.

Describe the last time you were moved to tears by something beautiful.

I kinda already wrote about this here and here.

I wasn’t exactly moved to tears, but it was beautiful. I made Sunny Anderson’s remoulade sauce tonight, and it was AMAZING. The Husband helped me make tilapia breaded in cornmeal and panko then pan fried. (It turned out crunchy AF, by the way.) I toasted some whole wheat sandwich bread, topped the fish with some coleslaw mix and remoulade sauce, and bingo-bango: dinner. Except that I forgot that I had bought some sweet potatoes to roast and/or mash. That shit always happens to me. I either forget to season the food, or I completely forget to make an entire component of the meal. I swear, I don’t know where my mind is half the time. Also, feeling a little bad that this meal wasn’t exactly healthy. The sauce called for 1 and 1/4 cup of mayo, plus I fried the fish instead of baking it. I would normally substitute Greek yogurt for the mayo and baked the fish. But it just didn’t feel right to mess with the sauce recipe. And I feel like sometimes trying to “fry” stuff in the oven makes the breading turn out mushy. Or it dries out the fish.

I know, I know. I sound like an asshole.

You know what else is beautiful? All the amazing skewered meat we’ve been grilling this summer. Like grilled paprika yogurt chicken kabobs. And grilled chicken satay with peanut sauce. And chicken gyros. The Husband has just been killing it. I mean, I do all the prep work, but still. Team effort!

Anyway, hope everyone has a great weekend. Laterz.
